What is Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS)?
FCS stands for Family and Consumer Sciences Extension. FCS programming focus on building assets of individuals and families to address problems faced across the lifespan. Family and Consumer Sciences Extension emphasizes well-being with a focus on human development, parenting, resource management, nutrition, health and leadership development.
At the community level, FCS Extension prepares individuals for community and economic development and activity. Professionals in Family and Consumer Sciences Extension provide the tools to help individuals and families to develop resources for strengthening families and building community for an ever changing society.

How to Meal Plan will be held on April 28, 2026, at 5:30 pm at the Caldwell County Extension Office.
Explore the basics of meal planning, the advantages and disadvantages of meal kits, and using AI for meal planning. This is not a hands-on cooking class.
Note: Must have at least 7 registered to host class.

Stories, Songs, and Stretches:

- For children ages 5 and under.
- Developing early learning skills one story at a time.
A Babysitting Clinic will be held on Saturday, May 16th from 9 am until 3 pm at the Caldwell County Extension Office.
This clinic is for youths in 6th to 12th grade. The cost is $5 (cash or check only). Lunch will be provided.
Participants will learn how to provide loving, safe, and reliable childcare. They will be taught about the business of babysitting, how children develop, given entertainment ideas, tips on how to communicate with parents, and help with snack planning.
Limited space is available.
Please register and pay at the Caldwell County Extension Office.
